Mr. Steve Berridge

Steve Berridge is an accomplished senior executive with 25 years of experience in tertiary education leadership and management roles in the UK and Australia. He is recognised for his strategic leadership, innovative mindset, and proven record of success in institutional engagement and growth in domestic and international contexts.

He is currently the Chief Engagement Officer at Melbourne Business School, leading the institution’s marketing, admissions, fundraising, alumni engagement and strategic partnerships. He is also a Non-Executive Director at the established EdTech company, Pivot Professional Learning, and Chair of the UK Governing Board for the fast-growing private tertiary education group, Education Centre of Australia.

Steve’s experience spans private and public institutions, including several years on the senior executive team of Victoria University, where as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global), he led large domestic and international teams and several strategic growth initiatives, including VU Online, VU Sydney and VU’s major partnerships. He also played a key role in the institution’s transformational VU Block Model innovation.

Earlier in his career, following formative years as a teacher in the UK and overseas, Steve specialised in international engagement through roles including Director of Victoria University International and in London, Director of International Education at the University of Westminster, as well as leadership roles at the Foundation for International Education and the European School of Economics.

Steve's career trajectory is marked by a consistent theme of elevating educational institutions to new heights through strategic innovation, collaborative partnerships, and a keen focus on quality and performance. Steve’s credentials include a Senior Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School, UK postgraduate quals in Education and Marketing, and an undergraduate honours degree in History. Steve is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
